Life Skills

We have a team of Progression coaches who work with young people like you to help develop your skills and talents so you can get back into education, training, and employment.

You will work with your progression coach and a designated Life Skills Coordinator to work on Life Skills. This is an accredited qualification run by the Open College Network West Midlands (OCNWM) Level 1 Award in Maintaining a Tenancy.

At your own pace, you will build a portfolio of evidence for the award, working through 7 Core modules. These include Financial Products, Housing Applications, Living Safely in a home, Looking after Own Health and Hygiene, Money Management, Responsibilities of a Tenant and Tenancy and Employment.

Should you and your Progression Coach feel it useful, there are further non accredited life skill modules that can be delivered to support independent living.

The whole programme, from how it is delivered to the Life Skills Graduation Awards evening, is designed to make you feel more confident and more valued and to value yourself.
